Below is a letter written to Mr. Morgan Tsvangirai. The letter read as follows:
Zimbabwe Political Democratic Party
MDC Head Office

Attention: Mr. Morgan Tsvangirai:

Harare, Zimbabwe
Mr. Morgan Tsvangirai:
With all due respect, I resent African’s Leaders going to the white minorities, other countries and the United Nations to solve African’s problems. In reference to an article published in the USA Today News Paper dated Monday, June 23, 2008 and I quote :”Tsvangirai called on the United Nations, The European Union, and the southern Africa regional bloc to intervene.” unquote.
We all realize that Africa has all kinds of problems; some say that; and I quote “"It's a step forward but we're still a long way off.." Some say, and I quoted ” Uganda: Yes, We Are Not Yet Ready for One Africa.”
And again another says “
“Umaru Yar'Adua, the Nigerian president, says it will be difficult for Africa to form a single state because of huge social and economic inequalities among member states. Addressing the closed session of the African Union (AU) summit, Yar'Adua expressed concerns at the decay of economic integration at regional level.”“President Thabo Mbeki earlier proposed a gradual approach to integration as opposed to the instant creation of a union government. Mbeki's approach includes, among other things, improving the capacity of the AU.” unquote. I expected such an answer for South Africa, other than unification. To me, South Africa has too much of Africa blood on her hand, therefore I rather see some other Africa Country in South Africa position of authority and influence. I should not be saying this when I am suppose to be talking - unity and inclusion. I am sorry to say such..
My comment is that: THEY GOT IT ALL WRONG, THE IDEA IS NOT TO GET THE AU TO FUNCTION LIKE AN WELL OIL MACHINE, AND TRYING TO WAIT UNTIL EACH AFRICAN’S COUNTRY HAS ALL ITS INTERNAT PROBLEMS SOLVED, NOR WAIT UNTIL AFRICA HAS HEALED FROM ITS SCARS AND WOMBS OF INTERNAL CONFLICTS, COLONIALISM, THE APARTHEID, AND ALL SORTS OF PROBLEMS, BUT TO SOLVE ALL OF THEM AS A UNITED STATE, AN UNITE STATES OF AFRICA. THIS IS WHERE THE HOPE IS. THIS IS WHERE THE DREAMS ARE, THIS IS WHERE YOU SPEND YOUR ENERY, YOUR HOPE FOR THE YOUNGER GENERATION OF AFRICANS.
Africans - your hope for good government and your hope for a new Africa. This is what we all should be working for An United States of Africa.
As long as the Leaders of Africa keep saying wait for this study, or that study, wait for us to get better economically and political - they will be waiting until hell freeze over.
With that said, I have enclose a copy an a document entitled “An Africa Mandate2008.” Forging A Nation. I hope that you and your organization get some inspiration and ideas for the document. You and your organization may use the document as you so desire. I have suggested that a copy of the document be distributed to schools, colleges, and even universities for discussions in their Political Science Classes. ..
Any other time in history I would have been jumping up and down praising you and leaders like you trying to accomplish your mission. I have grown a little weary about most of Africa Leaders goals and intentions. I have become weary of their true objectives as whether they really have the African people welfare at heart. Then I said; O’ Well, and try to convince myself that those African’s Leaders and doing good for the African’s people, but this still does not satisfy my concerns. Like I said, any other time in history I would have been jumping up and down saying - THIS IS GOOD, BUT NOT NOW. I can not be satisfy with anything for the African’s people less than AN UNITED STATES OF AFRICA, and you will understand my position in the enclosed document entitle “A Voice For Africa Campaign 2008. - Forging A Nation.
Thank you,
Ernest L. Herron
